(Tampa) Baywatch – Pre-Season

 Yes , I am going to continue my series that I started only last season after some of my favorite players were traded away to the last placed team in the league . If you enjoy it , great , if you are annoyed by a Dallas Stars site featuring stories about another team , I am sure that I will find more ways to annoy you if you read for the rest of the season so stick around .

 After the few fights between prospective players and established players in the Bolt’s training camp , they started their pre-season off right . They managed to beat the Penguins in a shootout by a score of five to four .

 Sadly , Mike Smith did not play , that sieve of a net-minder Kari Ramo started . Who knows what will happen this season in that position especially since the Bolts picked up Olaf Kolzig in the off-season .

 Jussi Jokinen played well . He logged over eighteen minutes of ice time . He also had two assists , two shots on goal and ended the game with a +2 +/- ranking . He also won twelve of his twenty-one face-offs . He scored the second shootout goal but sadly that goal that is considered “extra” is never counted . The youngster Steve Stamkos scored the game winner that also happened to be his first official goal in the NHL . Congrats . Your first game winning goal .

 Jeff Halpern (for those of you that do not know) is not going to be playing until at least January . He was injured during international play and was forced to have reconstructive surgery on his knee . The most disturbing thing about him not being there is that he is not even listed on the Bolts’ roster .

 In other news around the league ;
   I checked out NHL.com and got a look at the Blues new third jersey . Other than the stupid little string that passes for laces on the sweater , it looks pretty sharp . I wonder when Our Stars will come out with a GOOD third jersey . I never understood the bull / uterus third jersey .

 TSN.com has listed their projected fantasy points for the theorized top two-hundred and fifty point earners . Here is how some Our Stars ranked in :
 22. Brad Richards  24 g  54 a
 37. Mike Ribeiro    22 g  49 a
 43. Cap’n Morrow  30 g  39 a
 97. Mike Modano  21 g  33 a
 102. Sergei Zubov 10 g  44 a
 159. Jere Lehtinen  24 g  20 a
 161. Loui Eriksson 19 g  24 a
 202. Sean Avery 15 g  24 a
 233 Phillipe Boucher 12 g  23 a
 They also listed Jussi Jokinen as #204 with 14 goals and 25 assists .
 I would love to see them all of Our Stars put those points up there and then some . That would be real nice .
