(Tampa) Baywatch

The Tampa Bay Lightning won their third game in a row against the New York Rangers by a score of three to nothing  . Our (ex)Stars players are really excelling with the Lightning .

Mike Smith started in net and posted his first shutout since donning a blue jersey . He faced twenty shots and made some spectacular saves . For the second time in two games , he was named the first star of the game . Congratulations to Smitty . He almost had an empty net goal in the last minute , but he shot , or rather tossed , it wide . Ouellett straightened up the shot and tossed it in the empty net giving Smitty his first assist as a Bolt and of the season .
Jeff Halpern had the primary assist on the first goal of the game . He had over seventeen minutes of ice time and had three shots on goal . He handed out his share of hits and was one of only two players to end the game with a plus two +/- ranking . I guess that back muscle strain he had from last game healed because he also earned the second star of the game . Since his arrival in Tampa , he has averaged a little over point a game . He has played ten games for the Bolts and has racked up eleven points in that time .
Jussi Jokinen had the primary assist on the game’s second goal . He had over twenty-one minutes of ice time . He also had one shot on goal .

  1. Ain’t life funny?!? When they made this trade, I was feeling so sorry for the guys being dumped in Tampa Bay. (bad pun intended, ha!) Now they, along with new d-man Picard, seem to have revitalized the Lightning and are winning. Meanwhile back in Dallas….

  2. No kidding . It is irony and really annoying . I never liked the fact that they were traded . That is kind of why I am still running this series .
Bitterness runs deep from a trade for one guy who has obviously not changed Our Stars team or their playing enough to make this a glorious winning combination that everybody had pipe dreams of .
