(Tampa) Baywatch

The Tampa Bay Lightning dropped yet another game last night , despite the attempts to win the game by our ex-Stars players . The Columbus Blue Jackets rolled over the Bolts like so many other teams have recently .
Jeff Halpern collected a goal in the first period and added a primary assist on Martin St. Louis’ goal later in the second period . Halpern was only one of two Bolts who finished the night with a positive +/- ranking . He had almost twenty minutes of ice time and one shot on goal . His face-off percentage improved to forty percent . He also took a holding penalty at the 15:15 mark in the third period .
Jussi Jokinen had ten and a half minutes of ice time and all of his shifts were long ones . He spent four and a half minutes of his ice time on the power-play .
Mike Smith made some great saves . He faced twenty four shots and made twenty saves . Sadly the Jackets scored on an empty net for a final score of five to three .
The Bolts are obviously not going to make the play-offs , but it would be nice to see our ex-players winning once in a while . It has to be demoralizing to go from a team that had a real chance to win Lord Stanley’s Cup to a team with no hope at all and problems in the front office .
